1989

On January 25th of 1989 Lypswitch showcased for MCA Records, it would be the first of many performances for the label. In July MCA gave the band a demo deal with a budget of $5000. Quickly the band was picked up by Future Star management and was in the studio with producer Ricky Delena (Kiss, Rod Stewart, Iron Maiden) recording a 3 song tape. Due to personal changes at MCA the band was never signed. It did help lead to another recording in December with producers Alex Woltman and Elliot Solomon (Motley Crue, WASP, etc.) That one song demo of "Rattlesnake Skin" helped create a buzz about the band with KNAC radio picking it up for airplay. 1989 is the year that Lypswitch really established themselves locally, each show the band played was sold out at this point and the hangers on began to hang. Everything that had been worked for was getting closer in sight, the rollercoaster ride was about to begin...
